چکیده

The grapevine trunk diseases (GTD) Botryosphaeria dieback and esca threaten the sustainability of industry worldwide. This study aimed to evaluate compare efficacy various liquid (pyraclostrobin + boscalid thiophanate methyl) paste (paste tebuconazole) formulation fungicide treatments as well biological control agents (Trichoderma atroviride SC1 T. I-1237), for their potential prevent infection pruning wounds by Diplodia seriata Phaeomoniella chlamydospora in two field trials over growing seasons. Treatments were applied freshly pruned following label dosages’ recommendations. After 24 h, artificially inoculated with 400 spores D. or 800 P. chlamydospora. Isolations made from treated after 12 months treatments. Fungicide formulations superior Trichoderma-based both pathogens during seasons, mean percent disease 44–95% 46–67% Pyraclostrobin was most effective treatment. Trichoderma atroviride-based did not reduce compared untreated vineyards represents first scientific comparative vineyard assessment commercial protect against GTD fungi Europe provides growers tangible preventative practices minimize yield losses due GTD.

Xylem Vessel Diameter Affects the Compartmentalization of the Vascular Pathogen Phaeomoniella chlamydospora in Grapevine

Fungal wilt diseases are a threat to global food safety. Previous studies in perennial crops showed that xylem vessel diameter affects disease susceptibility. We tested the hypothesis that xylem vessel diameter impacts occlusion processes and pathogen compartmentalization in Vitis vinifera L. We studied the interaction between four grape commercial cultivars with the vascular wilt pathogen Phae...

Draft Genome Sequence of Diplodia seriata F98.1, a Fungal Species Involved in Grapevine Trunk Diseases

The ascomycete Diplodia seriata is a causal agent of grapevine trunk diseases. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of D. seriata isolate F98.1 (37.27 Mb, 512 contigs, 112 scaffolds, and 8,087 predicted protein-coding genes).

Real-time PCR detection of Phaeomoniella chlamydospora and Phaeoacremonium aleophilum.

Phaeomoniella chlamydospora and Phaeoacremonium aleophilum are the two main fungal causal agents of Petri disease and esca. Both diseases cause significant economic losses to viticulturalists. Since no curative control measures are known, proactive defensive measures must be taken. An important aspect of current research is the development of sensitive and time-saving protocols for the detectio...

Variations in Early Response of Grapevine Wood Depending on Wound and Inoculation Combinations with Phaeoacremonium aleophilum and Phaeomoniella chlamydospora

Defense mechanisms in woody tissue are poorly understood, especially in vine colonized by trunk pathogens. However, several investigations suggest that molecular mechanisms in the central tissue of Vitis vinifera L. may be involved in trunk-defense reactions. In this work, the perception of Phaeoacremonium aleophilum and Phaeomoniella chlamydospora alone or together were investigated in cutting...

Draft Genome Sequence of Phaeomoniella chlamydospora Strain RR-HG1, a Grapevine Trunk Disease (Esca)-Related Member of the Ascomycota

The Ascomycota species Phaeomoniella chlamydospora, in concert with other fungi, is a causal agent for grapevine trunk diseases. Here, we present the first draft of the P. chlamydospora genome sequence, which comprises 355 scaffolds, with a total length of 26.59 Mb and 7,279 predicted protein-coding genes.
